Two thin sheets of metal, reduced to the essential, sustain the piece in a subtle state. The simplicity of the material and its thickness reveal a presence, where form does not impose itself, it simply happens.
As they meet, in a balance between tension and rest, the planes slide over one another, as if completing each other. In this encounter, the reflective surfaces mirror one another. In reflection, the real unfolds into image — a silent happening of matter.
The gesture is minimal and charged with delicacy: like two leaves touched by the wind that, as movement ceases, meet in rest.
Teshima

On the island of Teshima, Japan, lies the Teshima Art Museum, a creation of artist Rei Naito and architect Ryue Nishizawa. A concave concrete structure with two elliptical openings at the top houses the installation Matrix: in this space, compositions of light and shadow, along with silence, invite contemplation. By attuning to the stillness, one can notice delicate water droplets emerging on the floor, slowly moving and elongating, like sculptures in constant transformation.
Jacqueline Terpins creates Teshima from this experience.
The flow of the droplets reflects our own existence. As they cease to be static volumes, move, and open themselves to structural change, they find spaces of possibility.
Sussurro Coffee table

A punctual disruption reverberates into its surroundings. Quietude and stability are disturbed. The cause is unknown. The overflow seems imminent, but time reveals the possibility of adaptation and absorption of what is no longer the same.
The Sussurro table originates in a free and spontaneous way, diverts its original flow and shifts matter from its plane into topographical waves. It upsets the flow and goes against the wood grain. The same force that disrupts also evidences a newfound diversity of forms revealed by these paths. The Sussurro table registers the image of an interrupted silence.
Cello Console table

While attending a concert, Jacqueline became interested in the sinuous forms that the wood is able to achieve through musical instruments’ craftsmanship. She immediately began to sketch what would eventually become the Cello console.
Cello has three delicate support points. It stands on the ground through its sharp, thin, needle-like edges bringing up the image of an insects’ poise. The piece has a continuous and fluid movement from its top to its extremities achieved by an uninterrupted trace.
Fenda Coffee table

Inspired by the movement of the tectonic plates, the Fenda table features a single seemingly random cut that divides, at the same time as it pairs both parts. In this pairing, the Fenda table becomes a representation of what has been or what can become one. A game of time and space.
Epicentro Panel

The Epicentro panel transgresses the vertical surface of the wall that supports it as well as the image of the one who is reflected. The central element distorts, disturbs and confuses as it instigates and attracts the observer. The fluidity of the material is present, when released by high temperature, while it reminds us of a drop in suspension.
